Harnessing Laser Technology to Heal Your Pet

Advancements in laser therapy are enabling veterinarians to heal pets and manage pain, sometimes without surgery or the use of medication. At Meriden and Wallingford Veterinary Associates, we are proud to be one of the first animal clinics in the state of Connecticut to utilize this technology.

Companion Therapy Laser

The Companion Therapy Laser, or CTL is a class 4 laser used to treat chronic and acute conditions, as well as pain and inflammation subsequent to surgery. It does not cut the treated area, but rather works with the body’s natural ability to heal through a process called photo-bio-modulation. In simpler terms, it increases metabolism within cells by ridding them of negative radicals.

Treatments with the CTL can be an alternative to surgery. However, when traditional veterinary surgery is necessary, laser treatments have been proven to reduce the use of post-surgical medication, as well as speed up recovery time. Laser therapy is quick, non-invasive, and as compassionate of a medical treatment as you will find.

If your pet suffers from arthritis or any type of chronic pain, contact us today. Our helpful staff will take the time to fully explain the benefits of laser therapy.
